Michelle Bowen

Hi, I am Michelle Bowen. I am excited to be a part of the Mill Creek Mustangs Family. I am looking forward to the coming school year. This is my 14th year teaching school. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, special education, 4th and 8th grade.

I have my Bachelor’s of Education in Elementary and Social Sciences. My Masters is in Curriculum and Advanced Teaching. I am currently finishing up my Specialist in Elementary Education. I have added Gifted, English as a Second Language and Special Education to my Teaching Certificate.

I am married and have a son who is in the eighth grade and a daughter who is attending Georgia Southern. I also have two steps sons who are attending Georgia Southern too. I play the piano and enjoy music. I love spending time with family, exercising and decorating. I am thrilled to be teaching Language Arts and Social Studies this coming school year. I am passionate about both subjects. 2019-2020 is going to be an amazing school year at Mill Creek Elementary.

Kim Brannen - Special Education
Kim Brannen

Hi! My name is Kim Brannen and I am thrilled to be joining the Mill Creek Team. I am a graduate of Griffin High School, Gordon Junior College, and West Georgia College. I earned my Master’s of Education in Interrelated Special Education in 1995. I have been teaching since 1994 and have loved every minute of it!

Very simply put, I love kids! I am extremely passionate about helping every child find success. I am a firm believer in building strong relationships with the families of the children I will be working with. “Once mine, always mine!” has been a personal motto and I am blessed to still be in contact with former students witnessing their growth and achievements as they make their way through life.

I am a 3 time Teacher of the Year from Hampton Elementary, Luella Elementary, and Beaverbrook Elementary. I am recently married and am looking forward to making Statesboro my town. My interests include cooking, reading and all things related to college football. This fall you will find me cheering on the Eagles, yelling “GO DAWGS!” and sending a piece of my heart (plus $$$) to Clemson University.

Megan Foerst - 3rd grade
Megan Foerst

Hi there!  My name is Megan Foerst, and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the Mustang family.  This will be my fifth year teaching, and first year teaching in Statesboro.  I grew up in Tallahassee, FL and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 2011 to attend the University of North Florida, where I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education.  I taught second grade in Jacksonville for four years, and I am looking forward to the adventure of teaching third graders this year.

Teaching is my passion. I love building relationships with my students and creating a sense of family in my classes. I consider it a huge honor to be able to play a small part in a child's life and watch them learn and grow. When I'm not teaching, you will find me planning my upcoming wedding (in November of 2020), or spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to an amazing year here at Mill Creek!

Taylor Muirhead - 3rd Grade
Taylor Muirhead

Hello! My name is Taylor Muirhead and I am so excited to be part of the mustang family. I recently graduated from Georgia Southern University and fell in love with Statesboro. I’m excited to meet my wonderful students, and create a home for myself here at Mill Creek Elementary.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher way back when I was in elementary school and so I cannot wait to help my students achieve their own goals and dreams of what they would like to be.

I love to have fun and do hands-on activities. In my free time, I do a lot of reading, crafting, and kayaking. I have two very cheeky kittens named Ghost and Shade.

Christiana Papanastasiou - PreK
Christina Papanastasiou

Howdy! My name is Christiana Papanastasiou and I am very excited to be joining Bulloch County Schools and MCE as a pre-K teacher this year! I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2016.

I started my career as a long-term substitute in first grade and since then have taught preschool in a Montessori setting, and kindergarten in Liberty County. In my free time I enjoy painting, playing golf, working with animals, baking, and gardening.

I am most looking forward to getting involved in the Statesboro community and welcoming my 22 new Mustangs! I am ready to laugh, love, encourage, and engage with my students! Go MCES! Go Mustangs!!

Hello, my name is Robin Chester. I am so excited to be joining this team. I am the wife, of ten years, to a wonderful husband, Michael. Our three amazing children challenge, bless, and teach me everyday.

I graduated from Georgia Southern in 2006 with my BA in Theatre. I have many years experience working with children of all ages. During my free time I enjoy reading, making Christmas ornaments and keychains, binge watching television shows or movies, and listening to music. Most importantly, I enjoy being with my family. I am happy to start this wonderful new journey in my life.

Allison Puzder - PreK Paraprofessional
Allison Puzder

My name is Allison Puzder and I moved to Bulloch County a year ago from the Atlanta area. I was previously the Secretary at Langston Chapel Middle School and also a substitute teacher. I have been in the school system for over eight years, but have always been in the office environment until January of this year.

After substituting in PreK for a couple of months at Stilson Elementary, I realized that PreK was where my heart was, so I am so excited to become a PreK paraprofessional at Mill Creek!

I am married and have three boys who all attend Bulloch County Schools. My family enjoys the beach, soccer, and spending time with family. I cannot wait to begin my career with Mill Creek and look forward to an amazing year!
